About the Book:
The New York Times praised this best-selling picture book as "adorable, original, well-illustrated and fabulous." In this first book in the How-To Series (which includes How To Get Married and How to Get a Job), the know-it-all big sister narrator tells it like it is: When you're a baby you don't read books. You eat them. You don't know how old you are, or even if you're a boy or a girl. And you have to keep a special plug in your mouth to stop your scream from coming out. But one day, you won't be little anymore, and then you'll be taller and smarter, and actually quite clever. Like the narrator. And you'll be able to share memories of what it was like when you were little with your incredible Big Sister.

Our Thoughts:
This is one of the best picture books about siblings/new babies I've read. It was perfect to read to my older kids after our baby was born. The author wrote the story from the humorous point of view of an older sister (which was perfect since both of my older kids are girls). The language is true to that of a six year old. My kids laughed and laughed at the jokes and the pictures. It was funny because everything the author says about babies is true, and my kids recognized that. They asked to read the book several times a day for weeks on end.
Highly recommended for anyone with an older child and a (new) baby in the house.

My kids would get a kick out of this one! My son actually asked for a new baby this past week. We're done so that won't be happening, but I'm sure he'd love this book.
