My Thoughts:

This is the second book in the Middle School a Magic series and I have to say that it was much like the first. I mean that in a positive way. I really enjoyed the first book and I was happy to see the second book follow in the same vein.

In this installment we see Conner, Lexa, and Melanie progress in their Mage training. The game has changed and the Stalker is back on their trail, so their training is even more urgent than before. They learn more about how the Light works and are able to tap into their individual Gifts more and more. Secrets and romance emerge as the kids become more in tune with their abilities.

Filled with the same action packed sequences and humor that abounded in the first installment, Penumbras is a thrill to read. Middle grade and teen readers alike will enjoy this series.

Content: Clean

Cover: As with the first book's cover, I'm not a huge fan of this one. I think the book is much more interesting that the cover suggests.
