My Thoughts:

This is the fourth book in the Lovecraft Middle School series. I have not read the first three, but I was still able to read this book without any confusion. If you are thinking about getting this book for a kid, though, you should start at the beginning with Professor Gargoyle.

This book wasn't nearly as creepy as I had expected it to be, but it is intended for kids, so I can't really complain about that. I think that the book could have been better developed overall, but it was still entertaining and fun for Halloween.  This book would be good for kids that like spooky stuff without it getting overly creepy or weird.

  1. So would you say it was like an R.L. Stine read? Those are spooky but not overly scary at least to me...

    1. I can't really say, actually. I've only read one R.L. Stine book, and that was when I was a little kid and it scared the pants off of me, so I never read another one. I didn't find this scary in the least, but I'm no longer a little kid, so it's hard to really know how a kid would react. My own kids were too freaked out by the cover to give it a try.
