About the Author:
Tiffany Strelitz Haber was born in NJ, raised in NYC, has traveled extensively and lives for adventures. She will taste any food she is served, be it fried Witchetty Grubs on a stick or Calf’s Brain Ravioli, and loves being high in the air or deep in the sea. Her obsession with rhyme began at the age of 3, when a nursery school admissions scout asked her, “What is a flower that rhymes with nose?”, and she proudly shouted: “Rose!”. Twenty-five years later (give or take), after a long career in finance, she has reconnected with her love of words and rhyme as a writer. Tiffany resides in central New Jersey and is available for children’s workshops everywhere.

About the Illustrator:
i Cenizal is an avid reader and has loved to draw ever since she was a kid. At some point, she decided to blend two of her favorite pastimes through illustrating children's books.
My Thoughts:
There are some things I like about this book, and some things I don't.
I like the writing. Overall, it flows well and the rhyme is fun to read. My kids think the story is funny and they love reading it. I like the idea behind the story, but I don't like the message it sends. I know I sound like a stuffy old adult when I say this, but I don't like the way Felicity throws a tantrum to get what she wants, and it works.
I like most of the illustrations. i Cenizal has a nice style for children's ebooks. There are just a couple of places where the illustrations are awkward or where the foreshortening could have been better. But overall, the artwork is pretty good.
This is a cute book if you are looking for something entertaining to read to your kids or grandkids on your iPad or tablet.
" Felicity throws a tantrum to get what she wants, and it works." Cringing. That would bother me a lot too, and I'm barely an adult so it's not you LOL.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not alone!
DeleteOh yeah... that tantrum completely puts me off from the story. Not a good message at all. The summary sounds good though and I'm happy that the rhyme flowed.
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty cute other than the tantrum thing. Like I mentioned in the review, I liked the idea, just not the message it sends to kids.
